enjoying spring greens : )



every weekend, something new comes out at union square farmer's market, that is, spring veggies.
after a long winter, eating storable veggies such as roots and onions, finally greens are available : )

sauteed broccoli rabe with onion and fried tofu.
just the color is so appetizing!

so, barley is a spring grain, and helps the liver function.
you can make so many variety of this barley salad : )

spicy peanut sauce pasta


except, it wasn't very spicy, since i didnt use much pepper.
but i really liked it : )

central park this morning

simple rice bowl dish



saute some veggies, and crumble tofu, add some dashi stock and cook.
add kuzu to make it thick, and season with soy sauce.
and place it over hot brown rice.
simple, delicious, one-pot dish : )

Little neck clam miso soup



this is what we have in Japan after drinking lots of sake.
supposedly good and nurturing for the liver.
fresh, local broccoli rabe and 3-year-barley miso.
all good for the hard working organs : )
and delicious, too!
