Breakfast at hotel w/o kitchen

First few nights in San Francisco, the hotel I stayed had no kitchen to cook.
But my body just can't start the day without brown rice porridge and miso soup!!
solution?
I usually bring an electric pot to make teas.
so i used it to heat up this packaged cooked brown rice (add some water and pinch of sea salt)
you can get a good, organic ones at whole foods or other health food stores.

I remembered a story by a guy who served in jail for years.
he came across a George Osawa's book in the prison cell, and wanted to try macrobiotic way of eating.
but how?
his solution was to use coffee pot!
with that, he made brown rice, some soup, and even some veggie dishes.
He became such an inspiration in prison, and he earned respect by inmates as well as prison guards.
eventually, he was released much sooner than sentenced!

anyway, another example that you can still eat balanced meal anywhere : )

Flight Meal

Well, even Continental stopped serving meal...
I kind of liked the vegan meal, chick pea curry with rice.
Without decent food option at the airport, naturally I have to prepare meal myself.
But it turned out nice!
using leftover rice and sauted veggies/tempeh, I prepared simple "rice bowl" : )
For miso soup, I ordered a cup of hot water, and mixed in some miso paste with seaweed.
You can eat balanced meal anywhere, even in the sky!
