soba noodle with spring taste

at the market, i got broccoli rabe and some little neck clams.
and made simple stir fried soba noodle with them.
clams can be cooked in miso soup, too (the previous photo)
i love spring!

Ramps!!!

Don't miss this short season for ramps!
one of my favorite is in miso soup!
great lunch after shopping at unions square farmer's market : )

Broccoli Rabe with carrot ginger dressing

great time to enjoy all the spring greens!
quickly blanch them, and enjoy this beautiful green with variety of dressings (or without any!)

Cracked gobo stew

There are many ways to cook this amazing root veggie, gobo (burdock root).
crack them gently with hummer so they absorb more flavor when stewed.
cooked with dark miso and amasake.
but fiber is intact : )

Fennel wakame salad

my invention.
fennel (kneed with sea salt to make it more digestible), wakame seaweed, and saurkraut. dressing is just a simple ume vinegar. and some roasted sunflower seeds.
surprisingly yummy and refreshing!

Rice salad

cooked leftover brown rice/wild rice mix, with pressed salad (celery, carrot and radish), with ume vinegar, lemon, soy sauce, roasted pumpkin seed and nori seaweed.
easy to make, but very satisfying dish : )

Greens have arrived!

the wait is over~~!!
greens are arriving at farmer's market in the city!
simple broccoli rabe saute.
yum!

scallion pancakes
