black bean burger! always wanted to make, and for my birthday, some friends gave me this food processor, which i also used to make the pesto. so i finally made this burger : ) also made some side dishes using fresh seasonal produce from the farmer's market. potato-cucumber salad arugula and heirloom tomato salad/

another pasta

so convenient! another pasta with the pesto. this time, sugar snap pea and shell pea. wow, this is yum!

Cilantro pesto green pasta

using the cilantro pesto that i made a few days ago (kept it in the freezer), i made simple green pesto with broccoli and shell pea, both from union square market : ) of course, cilantro is from the farmer's market, too : )

arugula and calamari salad

also with the fresh ingredient from the market, i made arugula and calamari salad. simple dressing, but the peppery flavor of arugula was amazing!

my "farm-to-table" dinner

saturday mornings, i go to union square farmer's market, and get freshest food for the week. now the market is abundant with summer produce. so i made summer pasta using green pea, heirloom tomato, cilantro (made vegan pesto), and little neck clam (also from the market). with whole wheat linguine, this pasta turned out just fabulous : )

Simple is best

monday dinner is always simple, yet nutritious, balanced and tasty. also important is presentation. and for my birthday, some friends gave me these beautiful bowls by a japanese artist living in NYC! inside is aduki bean and kabocha squash. very sweet and good for your pancreas : ) the other is a simply steamed broccoli and cauliflower. (yes, now a broccoli season!) dressing, tahini-miso.
