Eating character and energy of food

thinking about modern nutrition vs wholesome approach.
if we focus just on "nutrients", we are missing some important aspects of eating foods.
protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, minerals etc...
even the same nutrients you take, it makes a huge difference depends on how and from which food you are taking them in.

you can get protein, carb and fat from mcdonald' humberger, as well as from brown rice.

even among veggies, each veggie has its own unique character and energy depends on the shape, color, how it grows, how fast it grows, where it grows, how long it lasts etc etc.
you can get vitamins and fiber, both from carrot and spinach.
but carrot grows downward under the soil, while spinach above the ground upward.
carrot lasts long while spinach is more perishable.

how about omega 3?
from fish oil vs walnuts, sounds like a huge difference in terms of the effect on the body.

and calorie?
forget about it.

i think we need more wholesome approach, larger point of view to see things, rather than just metaphysical numbers.
we are eating not just nutrients from foods, but the characters and energies from them!

yay! I am happy you posted about this because I think about this a lot. How the whole meal comprised of different veggies, grains, and proteins come together to create nourishment. Thank you for posting!

thank you for your comment: ) i don't like to criticize others, but sometimes im sick of listening "nutritionalists" talking about calories and numbers on TV all the time, like that one "eat this, not that" or something. please!!! and it's really confusing people.
